Because is important to know what you are writing about, my choice was ATELIER STYLING PROJECT

Being a fashion addict, a fashionista, or a person with a passion for fashion is not easy. I simply like fashion. I know what clothes look good on me and the colours that suit me. People say I have my own style and I think they're right but when they ask me for advice on what should they wear... What should I do? Here's when Pedro Crispim and the Atelier Styling Project come in.

I knew Pedro Crispim from the TV and from the work he does as stylist with celebrities and as a trainer all over Portugal. I searched on the Internet about him and his experience in the fashion world and I found his atelier and the courses it has. After having a first meeting with him when he explained the course's main points and we exchanged some personal opinions about fashion, I decided to join the Stylist & Image Consulting Course. If fashion is my passion I should learn more and  have a broader knowledge about it so I could use it to help people who need it. 

The Stylist & Image Consulting Course at the Atelier Styling Project gave me all of that. It  covers all the important points any stylist needs to know about fashion. From financial and management aspects to ways of empowerment, personal marketing and a prêt à porter and tailoring class with Paulo Mateus at the Ermenegildo Zegna shop. Makeup is also important in any fashion production or even if your client just needs some help and that's why the atelier gave us more knowledge with the help of the Atelier Room B and its founder, the makeup artist Sandra Almeida who also has great experience in makeup. We also visited some showrooms and they told us about what they do with the collections when they arrive and how they manage them. We also went to shops where we had lessons and practice exercises in which we were able to apply all the information we had  learnt. We were always guided by Pedro and his team of professionals.

Now that I have a stronger opinion and knowledge not only in fashion but also in image consulting and styling, I can talk and advise about fashion.

There are other courses and others ateliers in Portugal but none of them are as good as this one. That was my choice.

Military Style is trendy. Rule # 4: Dress properly, you're not in the Army.

Military style is a huge trend this Fall and we have seen it in lots of runway shows. Rule # 3: Look a million dollars for a hundred

Have you ever heard of Elisa Nalin? You might have not, but don't worry the only thing you need to know is that she's a well known stylist who become the Creative Director of Samsonite for their shoe line and worked for Vogue Nippon, Benetton, La Perla, among others. She's a fashion icon who gets to wear luxurious and expensive designer clothes. She's fond of colour, sunglasses, vintage, silk, and shoes. Girls, make your men as stylish as you!

A few days ago I was invited to the presentation of the Winter Collection at the unique shop UP TOWN LISBOA, event organized by João Libério. UP TOWN LISBOA is located in Rua da Misericórdia 68. It opened its doors in May this year and its owners Bruno Ferreira and Jacob Jan de Graaf have their own philosophy: "Be different, be unique... be yourself" and this philosophy its on the clothes they sell. Brands like the Spanish ES Collection and Addicted, Ganesh, Henry Cotton's, the Dutch Scotch & Soda or the English Ben Sherman, share the space with the underwear collection of Bjorn Borg, 2xist and the sexy Andrew Christian. Last Summer UP TOWN LISBOA sold the ES Collection and Addicted collections of swimwear with the peculiarity of having "wonderbra" for men. But they don't just sell underwear and swimwear. The ready to wear collection of Scotch & Soda is fresh, cool and with high quality and design. Henry Cotton's proposes a different concept of fashion, american's looks with thin ties and bow ties as predominant items. Henry Cotton's also have blazers with a 30's vintage cut easily recognizable. Ben Sherman is the brand that represents the most the "Brit" Style. It was released in London at the height of the mod movement and became the brand used by the followers of this style. Therefore Ben Sherman has always been linked to music and can see groups habitually wearing British clothing brand. I have to mention the underwear collection, comfortable and with cool materials it feels like you're wearing nothing apart from they look great with fantastic design.

Women want to learn fast. Rule #2: Be calm and analyze your closet.

After learning and realizing that rule #1 is actually true, I'm sure you now want to know more and more about fashion and how to create a fantastic look and stay gorgeous all the time. So now it's time for rule #2: Be calm and analyze your closet. How many times have you opened your wardrobe and thought "I have nothing to wear"? Lots I guess... Stop, you don't need to go out and start buying new clothes. The thing is that you might have a lot of clothes and some of them are not the right ones. Some of them might not fit you anymore, some of them are out of fashion or some of them have a sentimental value and you don't what to get rid of them. Be honest, it has happened to me. Having the right clothes make a huge difference. You should start by having a closet cleaning. And it doesn't mean you should take the clothes out and put on your cleaning gear and scrub the inside of your closet. That's not the idea and you are not the right person to do your own closet cleaning. This is because we all are attached to our own clothes in different ways and sentimental reasons are the worst! So get some professional help. A personal stylist is what you need to do the job.

Rule #1: Demystify

Here we go! This is the rule number 1: DEMYSTIFY. This is the rule that all of you should have in mind when you look at magazines or while you are watching the glamorous actresses walking down the red carpet. They are not like that the whole time. They are "produced". Behind a glamorous actress there's always a personal stylist who help them to get to that point of beauty. They look for their dresses, makeup artist, jewellery, etc. The better the personal stylist the better you could get. But of course you don't need to be a millionaire to get your hands on great dresses and talented makeup artists. You need someone who can find you the right clothes in affordable shops. It doesn't matter if you are fat or thin, it doesn't matter if you don't have a perfect body. You could be just as glamorous as they are. All you need is just a bit of professional help. Someone who knows your body, someone who knows what suits you, someone who knows what colours enhance your own personal beauty. Do you want to look good? Look at the pictures I've posted. We all see them wearing fantastic clothes and with a flawless skin but the truth is they don't look like that the whole time. They are normal human beings. They age as we do. They are mortals as we are. They could even look worse than we look when we wake up. The difference between you and them: they have a personal stylist. So now you are wondering if you can afford one too. The answer is: Yes you can.
