PANTONE, the international authority on all things colour, has selected its official Colour of the Year 2014 - Radiant Orchid. Described by Pantone as "a captivating, magical, enigmatic purple" set to make its impact on the fashion, beauty, art and design worlds, the hue has fuchsia, purple and pink undertones and replaces 2013's Emerald shade.
Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute said that’s what pop culture wants right now. “People associate purple with creativity and originality —and those are very valued today. We see words like that being used to describe technologies and products that are seen as innovative and with an approach you haven’t tried before.”

And you, what do you think about this colour? Thanks for reading!
Justo: Radiant Orchid is an enchanting color. I think it is a great selection. I am curious about whether this shade will be popular during the fall and winter of 2014. I am glad they went with a pastel shade.

Hi Sharon, thanks for your comment. We are in the same page about being popular next fall. Pink and its shades are so big already this season...
