Spring 2014 Trend: Embellishments.

One of the biggest trends for the upcoming season is full of glitter & glamour. It will make you stand out of the crowd and turn you into the most fashionable girl in town. I'm talking about embellishments. We have seen them in most of the biggest catwalks during fashion weeks and now this trend is here to stay - at night and even during day. Wearing embellishments on your clothes is now a question of making a statement and nothing to do with special occasions.

BURBERRY
LOUIS VUITTON

PRADA

TOM FORD

I have selected some pieces of clothing and accessories that will make you look fantastic and give you sparkle. Have a look at the outfits I've created for you so can get some ideas about how to wear this trend. The key is not over do it and balance the embellishments on you upper and lower body. You want to look glamorous and not like a jewellery shop.

Here I am again with some clones of shoes that will make lose your mind! Despite some of them being ugly,  I think they will become a trend and we'll see them very soon on the streets.

The wrap dress.

Back in the early 70s a Belgian-born American designer didn't know how her life was about to change when she designed a knitted jersey wrap dress. She introduced a timeless style into the world, a flattering, easy-to-wear dress that fastens with a simple tie at the waist. Of course I'm talking about Diane von Fürstenberg

The wrap dress has all the elements of an iconic piece: is timeless, functional, open to variations and it flatters any woman's body type. As Diane von Fürstenberg said herself it represents freedom, empowerment and confidence

It has been 40 years since Diane von Furstenberg debuted her iconic wrap dress, which not only impacted the fashion industry, but also the lives of the women who have worn it. A iconic piece of this kind deserves celebrate its maturity with a big party, so with over 200 examples of the famous frock and photos from the designer's live, a new retrospective, Diane von Furstenberg: Jorney of a Dress in Los Angeles, honors the piece that is so much more than just a dress.

What about you, have you got one in your wardrobe?

Dardos Awards.

Hello followers!

Everybody knows how bloggers compete between each other to achieve more recognition, visits and followers - but what most of those people don't know is that there are several awards that bloggers give to each other. Among these are the Dardos Awards, given by bloggers to bloggers to recognise cultural, ethical, literary and personal values transmitted in the form of creative and original writing. These awards were created to promoting fraternisation between bloggers, a way of showing affection and gratitude for work that adds value to the Web.

Last week I received one of these awards from Borja Elorza and his blog My Perfect Taylor: a Spanish blogger with an amazing creativity and passion for fashion and lifestyle. Thanks very much Borja!

The origin of these awards is unclear. Some people believe they began in Portugal and Brazil. The rules of the Dardos Awards are:

1. Accept the award by posting it on your blog along with the name of the person (blogger) that has given you the award with a link to his/her blog.
2. Pass the award to another 15 blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgement, remembering to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been selected for this award.

And now my Dardos Awards go to:

How to pull out an authentic street style look.

I've talked to you before about how amazing street style is and how designers get inspired by it to create their collections. I personally love it. Most of the street style looks are head-turners. Girls all over the world look great and appear effortless. You might think it's difficult to get one of those looks because some of the clothes might be expensive. But I’ll let you in on a secret: they are actually so easy to create that you too could look like one of those girls you see all over the internet and I’m going to show you how. Have a look at these ideas to get inspiration. Wouldn't you look like one of them? Well, now you can!

How to make the most out of 15 pieces of clothing.

Hello dear followers and Happy New Year!

Have you all recovered from the festive season? Well you'd better put your batteries in and make the most of the sales!! One of the good things about the sales is that you can build a new wardrobe by buying basic pieces that will last you forever and some of them might be worn during the upcoming seasons.

For those of you that are on a tight budget this post might be really interesting. I have a challenge for you: I have chosen 15 pieces from shops like Mango, Zara, Topshop, J. Crew and some luxury accessories from Michael Kors and I have created 10 looks. The pieces I selected are basic ones in a basic colour palette and at a good price. I've just created 10 but I think you might be able to pull out a couple more of them.

Last year I gave you some useful tips you should have in mind when shopping on the sales. Have a look at them here.

When your budget is the number one priority, ideas like that are very welcome and appreciated.

Thanks so much for being there.
